There used to be eight, but due to changes in the housing market, the average home in Bonita has dipped just below $1 million. According to Zillow, seven remain, and there are reasons these communities are so desirable.
The cost of living in this coastal city seems to be racing upwards. Del Mar offers beachfront properties and is home to the famous Del Mar Thoroughbred Club.

San Marcos is reeling in good news. The city officially opened the new South Lake Park — a 10-acre outdoor space that’s ~4 miles from Lake San Marcos.
South Lake reservoir was built in 1959 to store ~73 million gallons of drinking water. In 1984, regulations changed, and its primary purpose became emergency water storage. But in 2005, San Marcos made a 50-year deal with Vallecitos Water District to rent the lake for $1 annually.

Good morning, San Diego. It’s Monday, and I always like starting the week with coffee. One place I recommend trying is Influx Cafe, which has locations in Golden Hill, Little Italy, and North Park. It also has delicious breakfast options — or if you get there a little late — the lunch menu is great too.
