We’ve got the tee for you — Petco Park is looking more like a golf coursethan a ballpark as the downtown venue transforms its infield for the 2023 round of The Links at Petco Park.
The annual event — which runs Thursday, Jan. 12-Sunday, Jan. 22 — invites golfers of all skill levels to tee off on a nine-hole course smack in the middle of the diamond. There’s even a hole situated on home plate.
Tee times for duos or groups of four are available from 7 a.m. through the evening, but the event tends to sell out, so reserve your spot ASAP. Prices range from $100-$225 and include one round of nine holes and access to the clubhouse, where players can relax after a day on the links.
🏌Pro tips: Don’t bring your own clubs — Callaway Golf will lend you everything you need. If you’d rather just watch the action, snag a $5spectator pass that also includes access into the clubhouse.
Editor’s pick: Aloha, San Diego. I recently met some friends for dinner at JJ’s Island Grindz in Bonita (pass the musubi, please) and drinks at its newly-open neighbor, Chief’s Da Tiki Bar. 🌺
The island-themed bar offers tropical, tiki-inspired drinks with names like the “Samoan Slammer” and “Typhoon Warning,” plus live music weekly and karaoke on Sundays. Sure, I was wearing my winter coat, but the tunes, drinks, and good company had me vibin’ like I was on vacation. 🌴
