We’re howlin’ for brunch at Werewolf.|Photo via @werewolfsd
The crunch of leaves. The brisk autumn air. Pumpkin coffee cake and apple cinnamon pancakes. We’re soaking up all the fall vibes right now, and loving it.
What is your favorite autumnal brunch item? Here’s a roundup of local brunch spots that will warm your spirits and fill your bellies this season.
Weekday wonder
Werewolf | Daily, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. | Order a round of Breakfast Balls for the table — hush puppies with country gravy + bacon.
Duck Dive | Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. + weekends, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. | The weekday + weekend brunch menus differ slightly, but the good times roll daily at this PB favorite.
Weekend must
Hasta Mañana Cantina | Weekends, 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. | This new downtown spot joined the weekend brunch scene in late August 2024 with a menu created by Chef Kevin Templeton that includes chilaquiles rojo, steak + eggs, and concha French toast.

Hi, SD. If you’re celebrating Día de los Muertos today (sending so much love to my late dad + brother), head over to Old Town for the annual candlelit procession starting at 6 p.m.
The route will start at Immaculate Conception church and travel down San Diego Avenue, ending at El Campo Santo Cemetery. The festivities in Old Town continue tomorrow, too — be sure to take the time to see the beautiful altars spanning the landmark.
