Summer baseball forecast

Padres season is back

It’s the Fourth of July which means it’s time for the three Bs: brats, beer, and baseball. This summer’s Padres season is packed full of games and events. From fun initiatives like giveaways to heritage celebrations, our local baseball season is just heating up.

About the team

The Padres made their major league debut on April 8, 1969, in front of 23,370 fans. In 2022, we won the National League Division Series — you know, against the rival LA Dodgers on that historic, rainy, October night at Petco Park (we’re not crying, you’re crying).

Today, the team plays at Petco Park in downtown’s “ballpark district” — 26 blocks bordered by Market Street, Harbor Drive, and Imperial Avenue.

Upcoming games

On Tuesday, July 4, we’ll be defending our home turf against the Angels at 3:40 p.m. Grab your theme game tickets now and receive a limited-edition, Independence Day-themed hat to celebrate.

Can’t make it? See one of these upcoming home games:
  • vs. Angels | Wednesday, July 5 | 5:40 p.m. | Rep two San Diego sports at once — if you buy a Soccer Night-themed ticket package, you get a free soccer jersey.
  • vs. Mets | Saturday, July 8 | 7:10 p.m. | The Padres team up with The Irish Outreach Center for Irish Heritage Celebration night. Your theme game ticket includes a Padres hat and a donation to a local community group.
  • vs. Rangers | Friday, July 28 | 6:40 p.m. | Get there early for a pregame Padres Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.
