La Mesa is preparing to welcome over a dozen new businesses that will occupy vacant storefronts using COVID-19 relief funding. The new stores will launch thanks to the La Mesa Entrepreneurship Accelerator Program that provides new business owners up to $20,000 in grants from the American Rescue Plan Act. 🏪 (San Diego Union-Tribune)

Mama’s Kitchen delivered its 11 millionth meal last week. Mayor Todd Gloria joined the nonprofit — dedicated to feeding San Diegans at risk of malnutrition due to chronic illness — to acknowledge the milestone and celebrate the organization’s service to the community. 🍱

Concerts and events coming to Snapdragon Stadium in 2023 — so far

It’s been three months since the debut of Snapdragon Stadium in Mission Valley. Home to San Diego State University Aztecs Football and San Diego Wave FC soccer, the venue is also attracting major artists and events.
Here’s what has been announced for the stadium — at least so far — for 2023.
🔱 San Diego Seals vs. Las Vegas Desert Dogs | Saturday, March 4 | 1:30 p.m. | This will be the first-ever regular season outdoor game in the history of the National Lacrosse League. Get tickets.
🌶️ Red Hot Chili Peppers | Friday, May 12 | 6:30 p.m. | Go on: “Dream of Californication.” The iconic rockers are hitting 23 cities across the world in 2023, and one of them is San Diego. Snag tickets.
