In our best ghoul voices, this is Halloween, this is Halloween.

This time of year has us dreaming of picking our perfect pumpkin. To fulfill our fall fantasy, we’ve harvested 10 pumpkin patches across San Diego County offering family-friendly fall fun. Gourd big or go home, right?

Goff Family Pumpkin Patch | 2830 Perry Rd., Liberty Station | Free admission

This pop-up patch across the street from The Presley restaurant is open daily Friday, Sept. 20-Thurday, Oct. 31. It features thousands of pumpkins, cute photo opportunities, and picnic tables.

SD Bates Nut Farm pumpkins 2023

Fall isn’t complete without a visit to Bates Nut Farm in Valley Center.

The beloved attraction at the longtime family-owned farm busts out its finest gourds and autumn events, open daily Thursday, Sept. 19- Thursday, Oct. 31. Stick around for other fall activities, too, like hayrides, a petting corral, and a straw maze. Parking costs $10 on weekends.

SD Oma's Pumpkin Patch

Come for the pumpkins, stay for the tractor ride tours of the farm at Oma’s in Lakeside.

Open Tuesday, Oct. 1-Saturday, Nov. 2 — Tuesdays-Saturdays — you’ll need to reserve your spot ahead of time for your seasonal visit to the East County attraction featuring pumpkins, play zones, and wagon ride tours of the farm.

Pumpkin Patch at Carlsbad Strawberry Company

The Carlsbad Strawberry Company’s fields have gone from red to orange.

The strawberries may be gone, but the pumpkins are out in full force at this North County patch open Friday, Sept. 20-Sunday, Nov. 3. Enjoy cute photo opportunities, a marigold field, shaded seating areas, and autumn activities like tractor rides and the Haunted Corn Maze.

Pro tip: Oceanside-based distillery Pacific Coast Spirits told us a little secret — they’re running a 21+, dog-friendly, pop-up speakeasy at the corn maze at this patch again this year.
Find the Hidden Corn Bar near the pink butterfly sign, open every Friday and Saturday in October, 4-9 p.m. Nightly passwords are required for entry — the distillery will be posting clues on Instagram.

Oma's Pumpkin Patch San Diego

A trip to Oma’s isn’t complete without some tasty seasonal treats.

These patches span five locations — Mission Valley, National City (Plaza Bonita), Bonita, Rancho Bernardo, and Del Mar — and offer pumpkins, games, inflatable play centers, and giant slides. Each location is open daily through the end of October.

This patch near the beach is open daily Friday, Oct. 4-Thursday, Oct. 31 and boasts bounce houses, games, mazes, and pumpkin carving.

Mountain Valley Ranch Pumpkin Patch | 842 Highway 78, Ramona | Free admission

Take in the ranch life while enjoying an assortment of pumpkins and corn, plus pony rides, a corn maze, and a petting zoo. This patch is open daily Saturday, Sept. 21-Thursday, Oct. 31.

Open during all of October, you’ll find pumpkins aplenty and a small corn maze that’s perfect for the littler kids.

Tom’s Adventures Pumpkin Patch | Locations vary | $1

With locations in Vista, Escondido, San Marcos, and Chula Vista, these patches are open all of October, through Halloween. Come for the gourds, stay for the games, activities, and bounce houses.

Coronado Pumpkin Patch | Coronado Ferry Landing | Free admission

Pick a pumpkin and enjoy Halloween-themed activities, tasty treats, and games at this patch, which is typically open during the last two weeks of October.
