The local collab drops Friday, Jan. 5, at Novo Brazil Brewing and Nova Easy Kombucha taprooms in San Diego County.

You know what they say — teamwork makes the dream work.

MESA Foundation — an organization that connects San Diego State University student athletes with local nonprofits — has partnered with Novo Brazil Brewing and Nova Easy Kombucha for a collaboration where everybody wins.

In late November 2023, SDSU Aztecs Men’s Basketball star Lamont Butler led a group of players to Novo’s Chula Vista headquarters where they collaborated with brewers to create a new raspberry lemonade hard kombucha flavor.

This Friday, Jan. 5, that play will come full circle as Novo and Nova release Azteks Kombucha.

The flavor will be available on draft and in canned packs at various Novo and Nova taproom locations — including Chula Vista and Ocean Beach — with a percentage of sales donated to the MESA Foundation. The cans will be sold at retail locations throughout SD soon, too.
