The free dog-centric fest is Saturday, May 20, at the brewery’s Carmel Mountain taproom

SD Second Chance Beer Co. Pupapalooza 2023

In the best way possible, this festival is going to the dogs.

Coachella may be over (thanks for closing it out strong, blink-182), but it’s still festival season, y’all.

Second Chance Beer Co. — featured in our dog-friendly San Diego guide — shared details with SDtoday of its Pupapalooza Dog Festival set for Saturday, May 20, 2-6 p.m. at its Carmel Mountain taproom.

The event will highlight 20+ locally-owned, dog-centric vendors and adoptable pooches from The Animal Pad. Oh, and tongues are wagging because the brewery will release a special beer for the party — Guava Wheat Ale.

Although entry is free, VIP experiences start at $125 and proceeds benefit The Animal Pad.

If you can’t make it to the festival, grab a pint another time: The brewery donates 1% of its sales of Buddy Lager and New Day West Coast IPA to animal rescue organizations as part of its ongoing “seize a pint, save a pup” pledge. Now, that’s a good brewery.
