We asked you to tell us which local small businesses you love shopping with + any deals you’re excited for, and (as usual) you didn’t disappoint. Plus, we included some of the local deals and shops we love.

Did you know we’ve sent a total of over 5,095 newsletters to readers in 26 cities so far this year?
Each of our news products is manned by two local City Editors and supported by the work of branded content writers, account managers, sales representatives, creative and growth marketing team members, editorial and executive leadership, our kickass operations team — and you, our readers and advertisers across the country.
If you’re sitting around the table today sharing what you’re thankful for, we’re doing the same.
Stuffing gobbled up 42% of votes, green bean casserole nabbed 16%, and it was a four-way tie for third place between turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and pie. We like that you spread the love during your feast, SD.
SDtoday readers also shared some of their favorite family dishes they eat on Thanksgiving, including:
“Potatoes au gratin made with sliced, skin-on potatoes and sliced cheese.” - Tracy Z.
“Brussel sprouts, because no one will eat them any other day of the year.” - Alan B.
“SPO-CRAN: A layer of whole cranberries (cooked and mashed) on the bottom of the glass rectangular oven dish, with a layer of mashed sweet potatoes on top, and a spatter of pats of butter on top after it’s out of the oven.” - Tess D.
Happy Thanksgiving, SD. I’m grateful for my family, friends, and home — and this job doing what I love, my friend and co-editor Michael, and the support we get from readers like you every day.
Oh, and of course, I’m always thankful for San Diego and its gems that make local life fun like our incredible hiking trails, beaches, museums, and coffee shops.
