Look up. Tonight’s full moon is not only the second one this month (aka a blue moon), it’s also the last blue supermoon we’ll see until 2032, appearing 8% bigger and 16% brighter than usual. Check local charts for the best time to view. Bonus: shop for telescopes. (NPR)

Prepare to see pumped up gas prices heading into the holiday weekend, experts anticipate it will be the most expensive Labor Day in San Diego County history. Plan Ahead
Ocean Beach is getting ready to say prost at its annual OB Oktoberfest, returning Friday, Oct. 6 + Saturday, Oct. 7. The event is packed with live music, food, beer gardens, contests, and more. Tickets will be $10 at the gate, but $49 VIP tickets are now on sale.
Traffic
Be on the lookout for orange striping on Interstate 5 in Carlsbad from Poinsettia Lane to state Route 78 — both northbound and southbound. These markers will designate work zones, and are expected to remain until construction projects (including car pool lanes) are completed in 2025.

Coronado High School (CHS) has welcomed three female athletes to its football teams — two varsity players and one junior varsity. 🧳 Summer’s preparing for departure
SAN expecting high traffic going into Labor Day Weekend
Plan accordingly before your holiday plans take off. | Photo via @lolotheexplorer
Summer is getting ready to take off, but San Diego International Airport (SAN) is preparing for an end-of-season travel rush on Labor Day weekend.
According to the Transportation Security Administration, this summer’s airport traffic has exceeded pre-pandemic levels from 2019. This holiday weekend SAN anticipates at least 80,000 travelers daily, Friday-Tuesday.
If you’re going on a trip, make sure you’re packed with info and know how to navigate the airport.
Arrive at least two hours pre-departure and make parking arrangements in advance, as the New T1 Project continues impacting traffic. Pro tip: Shuttle into SAN via the San Diego Flier from the Old Town Transit Center.
If possible, avoid peak hours for security screenings — they are 5-7 a.m., 9 a.m.-1 p.m., and 7-9 p.m.
Fall into the season of baking with Adams Apple Co. biscuit mixes. You’ll have all the ingredients you’ll need to create a delicious apple-based treat.

The piece of furniture we’re drooling over: this Poly & Bark leather ottoman pouf in cognac brown. Hello, soft leather and beautiful living room.
Good morning, San Diego. I love learning about the Hotel del Coronado’s history, and you can visit its lobby and stores for free. You’ll see many tributes to Marilyn Monroe — who famously filmed “Some Like It Hot” at The Del. If you head to the Est. 1888 store, you’ll find an abundance of memorabilia, and the iconic movie playing on repeat.
