Four times per month, something good sprouts in San Diego. The Vegan Food Popup has become a staple in three communities, allowing locals to branch out and try new, plant-based dishes.

At this meatless meet-up you’ll find a rotating selection of vendors offering everything from burgers to pizza and ice cream to donuts. Here’s where you can expect the market to pop up:
  • Vista — at Local Roots Boochyard on first and third Fridays of the month 5-9 p.m. Find it this month on June 2 + June 16.
  • North Park Mini-Park — on the second Saturday of the month, 12-4 p.m. Check it out on June 10.

From the editor
Good morning, San Diego. Last weekend, I took advantage of the Nighttime Zoo hours at the San Diego Zoo. It’s always fun to see which animals are active in the evening, but the biggest delight was catching the new Andean bear cubs in action. The babies were learning to climb trees and their mother Alba was trying to keep them out of trouble — just like a human mom.
