Cinco de Mayo is this Friday, May 5 — the holiday that commemorates Mexico’s victory in the Battle of Puebla in 1862 over the French forces of Napoleon III. Though not a major holiday in Mexico, San Diego loves to celebrate it with a fiesta or two. 🎉
The historic landmark will host its fiesta Friday, May 5-Sunday, May 7, with entertainment and drink deals at participating restaurants. Don’t miss the mariachis and ballet folklórico at Casa de Guadalajara.
You know we take brunching seriously around these parts. If the current May Gray has you craving comfort food, head over to Sunnyboy Biscuit Co. on Park Boulevard for some good ol’ Southern-style biscuits. The shop’s classic single buttermilk biscuit with whipped honey butter and jam hits the spot, but we also love the Egg N’ Cheese sandwich and fresh-squeezed orange juice.
