A new, 1,800-sqftJewish delicatessen has laid roots in Torrey Pines — Gold Finch — located at 3040 Science Park Rd., at the Muse life-science campus.
The full-service eatery brings a modern spin to the traditional Jewish deli, with its menusrooted immigrant culture and Ashkenazi + Sephardic-style cooking. You can find everything from bakery staples like bagels, bialy, and knishto sandwiches, salads, and sides. 🥪
“This has been a long-awaited passion project, and I’m excited to share our interpretation of what a modern delicatessen in a great city can be,” Borkum said.
The restaurant is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-3 p.m., for breakfast + lunch — and we hear weekend brunch is coming soon. 🍳
THE WRAP
Today’s issue was written by Monica.
Editor’s pick: Remember those Icee slushies you used to love as a kid? 🥤
Well, I recently tasted a couple of adultversions of the drink over at Fernside in South Park: The Blue Hawaiian (rum, lime, pineapple, Blue Curaçao, coconut) and Watermelon Mint Daiquiri (rum, lime, watermelon, mint). The cute Icee-inspired cups were the cherry on top. 🍉
