As a military town, Veterans Day is close to the hearts of San Diegans. We’ve rounded up some local ceremonies set for Friday, Nov. 11, that’ll honor those who’ve served + protected our freedom — plus a few freebies being offered to vets via local businesses.

- Salute to Service Festival | 10 a.m.-3 p.m. | USS Midway Museum | Free | A celebration aboard the historic aircraft carrier for all service members featuring live music, activities, food + drinks. Service members get free admission to the museum all day, too.
- Veterans Day Ceremony | 11 a.m. | Veterans Park, Poway | Free | VFW Post 7907 and the Poway Veterans Park Committee honor those who serve.
- VetFest 2022 | 9:30 a.m. | Grand Avenue, Escondido | Free | This North County celebration begins with a parade, followed by lunch at American Legion JB Clark Post 149 .
- #ThanksToVeterans | 10 a.m. | Veterans Museum, Balboa Park | Free | A fun run with actor + US Marine Corps vet Rob Riggle , plus food trucks via Veterans United , games, and more .
SeaWorld San Diego will honor US military service members with its Red, White, and Blue Salute from Friday, Nov. 11-Sunday, Nov. 13.

- Show your military ID at Flagship Cruises to get a free ride on the San Diego Harbor Tour — and special savings of 15% off year-round.
- SeaWorld San Diego will offer free admission to veterans and their families from Friday, Nov. 11-Sunday, Nov. 13, during its Red, White and Blue Salute — a special weekend featuring a flag ceremony, live music + fireworks.
- SEA180° Coastal Tavern is offering veterans + active duty military personnel a complimentary appetizer selected from a special list.

- Fogo de Chão is offering veterans + active duty service members 50% off food + 10% off for up to three guests. There’s a location in downtown San Diego.
- Coco Maya in Little Italy will offer service members 20% off food + drinks.
- Louisiana Purchase in North Park will offer a 20% discount to service members.
- Second Chance Beer Co. will honor Veterans Day with a “buy one get one for 1 cent” on all pints at its taprooms in Carmel Mountain + North Park.
- Good Bar in Point Loma will extend a 25% discount to all military personnel. Civilians can partake in the bar’s “Patriotic Pours” program and buy a drink for a service member to later redeem.
