Old Town San Diego will honor Día de los Muertosand those who have died — with its annual candlelight procession from 6-8 p.m. today. The ceremony begins at dusk at Harney Street + San Diego Avenue, and ends at a community altar at the historic El Campo Santo Cemetery . 🪦

The free community event has been going strong since 2012 and also features face-painting, live entertainment, and other family-friendly activities.

Pro tip: Most businesses in Old Town have created “ofrendas ” — or altars — for the occasion. Check out this map and take a self-guided tour of the 40+ tributes at spots including:

🕯️ Old Town Market
🕯️ Bazaar del Mundo
🕯️ Societe Brewing Co.
🕯️ Whaley House Museum
🕯️ Old Town Urban Market

Also, take a moment to appreciate the pretty paper Tagetes erecta (Mexican marigold) strung along the trees on San Diego Avenue.
