Happy Hispanic Heritage Month, San Diego. If you’re looking for ways to celebrate, try the Historic Explorers event this Saturday, Sept. 20 or the Family Festival coming to Otay Ranch Town Center on Tuesday, Sept. 30. This spotlight on Hispanic changemakers in SD is a great read, too.

Hispanic Heritage Month is important to me because I am Chilean, and today happens to be Chile’s Independence Day. So, please allow me to share this photo of little me at a patriotic school celebration dressed as a “huasa,” about to dance the “cueca.”
