Belly Up Tavern | Despite its name, this popular Solana Beach venue has stayed afloatsince 1974, allowing fans to get close to their favorite acts. Humphreys Concerts by the bay | Artists have been bringing their shows to Shelter Island’s picturesque outdoor venue since 1982. It attracts acts across many genres, including rock legends and rising pop stars. Music Box | Looking for an upscalemusic experience near downtown? The first-ever Sports Illustrated Women’s Games is coming to Oceanside’s Frontwave Arena Tuesday, Oct. 28-Sunday, Nov. 2. The games will feature elite female athletes from all over the globe competing in flag football, judo, wrestling, volleyball, gymnastics, basketball, and tennis for Team Americas and Team World. The National Weather Service issued a Heat Advisory for San Diego County’s inland valleys through 8 p.m. tomorrow, including Santee, La Mesa, El Cajon, Poway, and Escondido. Daytime temps are likely to hit the mid-90s but could reach up to 103° alongside an increase in monsoonal moisture. (CBS8)

The San Diego-Coronado Ferry is going electric. Two of the diesel-powered ferry boats that take passengers from Coronado to Broadway Pier and the convention center will be replaced with sleek, fully electric boats by fall 2026. The zero emissions vessels — with more space for bikes and strollers — are intended to reduce pollution. (The San Diego Union-Tribune)
Development
Downtown’s embattled redevelopment of Horton Plaza just hit another snag. After developer Stockdale Capital Partners defaulted on its $400 million loan, the property went into foreclosure. No outside bidders stepped in, so now the lender has control of the property, with no clear future plans. (The San Diego Union-Tribune)

The Los Angeles location of the SD-born vegan restaurant Donna Jean will be featured on “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives” tomorrow on Food Network. It’s not the first time a local restaurant has taken the spotlight on Guy Fieri’s TV show — check out these San Diego “DDD” standouts. Flavortown, indeed.
