After a years-long permitting process, Shorebird is finally open at Seaport Village. Grammy Award-winning rapper Doechii is coming to San Diego. The “Anxiety” singer will bring her “Live from the Swamp Tour” to Gallagher Square at Petco Park on Wednesday, Nov. 5 — just one of two stops in California. There’s a lot going on in Mission Valley. Construction is underway on The Becker, a 190-unit affordable housing complex that’s part of the Riverwalk San Diego development. Time for a lil’panda-monium — tomorrow, Aug. 8, is California Panda Day, a celebration of the historic arrival of pandas Xin Bao and Yun Chuan to the San Diego Zoo.
It’s been exactly one year since the Giant Pandas moved to SD, becoming the first pandas to enter the US in 21 years. Today, the fuzzy pair are thriving at the zoo’s Panda Ridge — playing, napping, and eating bamboo for up to 12 hours a day while the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance continues its conservation efforts. You can visit them daily starting at 9 a.m. or watch them on the Giant Panda Cam.
