Shifting Gears Bike Path Dance Festival | Monday, Sept. 1 | 12-6 p.m. | Bring your bike, scooter, or running shoes and make stops at multiple parks to watch performers.

Underdog Pet Rescue Fundraiser | 3-6 p.m. | The Kickback, Middleton | Free | Each dollar from pint sales will be donated to help local pups in need, so sip a few for a good cause.

LaborFest 2025 | 12-5:30 p.m. | Madison Labor Temple | Free | Don’t work too hard at this fun festival that features two magic shows, food carts, and activities for children.
Portland vs Wisconsin Badgers Soccer | 7-9 p.m. | McClimon Track/Soccer Complex | Free | Round out your Labor Day weekend by cheering on the Badgers on the football —although not that kind of football — field.
Lane’s Bakery is coming back, just in a different form. It will no longer offer sales through a retail front, but you can get your hands on its delicious items through TnT’s Catering. (Wisconsin State Journal)
Outdoors
It’s not an eclipse, but it’s still a rare lunar event. Keep your eyes to the sky tomorrow night to see a Black Moon, which is when the moon is in its 3rd new phase in an astronomical season. Don’t miss it, or you’ll have to wait upwards of three years. (WMTV 15)

Forget Labubus — we’ve got our eyes set on a limited-edition Madison Public Library card. They were designed by a local artist and celebrate 150 years of reading. New members can get their card in September and existing members can do the same in October. (WMTV 15)
Sports
The Badgers will be looking extra sharp in their rivalry matchup against Iowa on Saturday, Oct. 11. The university unveiled its throwback uniforms and they are an immediate add to shopping cart for us.
Watch
Take a stroll through the recently rebuilt section of Wilson Street without leaving your chair. Madison Police filmed an impressive drone video of the area, which opened last week. (Wisconsin State Journal)
Pets
Dane County Humane Society reported 80 animals were adopted during the finale of their Clear the Shelter event. This includes plenty of pups, cats, and even a few farm friends. That’s quite the way to celebrate 100 years. (Wisconsin State Journal)
