How does technology influence how we play, connect, live, work, and move? That’s what the Comic-Con Museum’s newest exhibit, “Popnology,” will explore.
The immersive exhibit — opening Wednesday, Oct. 4 — will take over the museum’s main space with interactive displays centered on tech’s connection to pop culture’s biggest movies, toys, TV, art, and books.
It’ll touch on virtual reality, robots, drones, 3D printers, driverless cars, and the future of transportation. Guests can expect to see a full-size replica of the DeLorean from “Back to the Future” and the world’s first 3D printed car.
The museum is closed through Tuesday, Oct. 3, for the exhibit’s installation.
When it reopens, fans will also find two more new exhibits: “Colleen Doran Illustrates Neil Gaiman” and “From Big Dots to the Digital Universe: The Evolution of Comic Book Color,” featuring art by longtime comic book colorist Steve Oliff.
Fact: Anytime is a good time for ice cream in San Diego. I recently treated my little ones to a scoop at The Craft Creamery in Point Loma and let me just tell you, the shop’s minimalist aesthetics are the coolest.
The Craft Creamery was taken over by The Moniker Group earlier this year and is attached to Moniker Coffee Co., so you can grab a cup of coffee before or after your treat. Honestly, I’m not sure there’s a more heavenly combo than that.
