Where to plan your next brunch date in San Diego

Hash House A Go Go san diego

In our opinion, brunch is always a good idea. Whether it’s an order of Andy’s World Famous Chicken & Waffles from Hash House A Go Go or a quick stop at Sunnyboy Biscuit Co. for a biscuit sandwich, the combination of breakfast and lunch is something we hold very close to our hearts.

Fortunately for us, San Diego does brunch right. Here are a few spots we’ve been loving:
  • Weekday WondersMadi | Daily, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. | Brunch is a lifestyle here, and we’re not mad about it.
  • Pastry ParadisesBlackmarket Bakery | Daily, 7 a.m.-5 p.m. (North Park) | This menu is sweet — croissants, cookies, muffins, and tarts.
  • Bottomless MimosasGARAGE Kitchen + Bar | Tuesday-Friday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. + weekends, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. | The bubbly flows while the menu brims with variety.
Which classic brunch beverage will you order? Let us know.

From the editor
Happy Friday, SD. I checked out “TINA — The Tina Turner Musical” at the San Diego Civic Theatre this week and the reviews are right, it’s simply the best.

Powerhouse performers Naomi Rodgers and Zurin Villanueva take on the demanding role of Tina Turner in alternate performances. I got to see Villanueva as the late great Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll and oh my goodness, she lit up the stage. That fiery finale felt like a tribute concert experience. The show is in town through this Sunday, July 30.
