Second Chance Beer Co. | This brewery is the ultimutt dog-friendly spot. Its Carmel Valley and North Park tasting rooms have outdoor spaces, and the brand is built on a love for animals. Its “seize a pint, save a pup” initiative helps support animal rescues in California and Arizona.
Grape Street Dog Park | If your dog has lots of energy, this is the perfect spot. It’s the largest dog park in Balboa Park, and offers five acres of off-leash space. You’ll also find plenty of trees providing shade, plus obstacle and agility courses.
The Dog Society | This spot in Rolando Park is made for dogs before people, but don’t run away from all the fun that’s inside. You’ll find a cafe with a full menu, and The Hydrant, a bar offering alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. There are also TVs, games, and you can board your dog here when you head out of town.
Civita Dog Park | The Mission Valley park offers spaces were dogs can roam off-leash. Here, you’ll find two areas: one for larger dogs and one for smaller dogs.

Hotel del Coronado | Share local luxuries with your furry friends at this historic hotel — just a 20-minute walk from Coronado Dog Beach. Dogs will be greeted with treats and a bowl upon arrival, just be sure to read the dog policy before booking.
Ocean Beach Dog Beach | Bring your dog and your surfboard to catch some waves together. This beach has been open to pups since 1972, and it welcomes dogs to have off-leash fun all year.

The Collective open in Pacific Beach

TapRoom Beer Co. is expanding its footprint in Pacific Beach. The North Park-based brewery recently opened The Collective, a new tasting room designed to be a late night loungewhere there’s plenty of fun on tap.
The new spot moved into the former house of Barrel Republic — just feet from the brand’s SD TapRoom restaurant. The Collective shared with SDtoday that it doesn’t serve food at the moment, but that could change.
The space aims to be a chill and relaxed destination with 20+ beers on tap from TapRoom Beer Co., wine, and cocktails. The lounge also features games and a large-screen TV, and it will be able to host events like open-mic nights or viewing parties.
Editor’s pick: Good morning, San Diego. Tonight, Eagles soar into Pechanga Arena. The “Hotel California” band has solidified its place in California history — their iconic song is about Los Angeles, and it’s not meant to paint a perfectly rosy picture of the city. I bet the group would be singing a much different tune if they stayed at the Hotel del Coronado. 🦅
