Southeastern Live Well Center previews its local art display
Southeastern Live Well Center is in its design phase, and the future community space is setting up the framework for its public art display.
Artists being displayed: Chloe Becky, Michelle Guerrero, JHelen Ramirez + Andrea Rushing.
Based on a community survey, 14 local artists were selected and have incorporated feedback into their pieces. The artwork — set to be displayed throughout the center — will showcase the community’s cultural diversity. This will include pieces by Chloe Becky, JHelen Ramirez, and Andrea Rushing that will be found along corridor walls + muralist Michelle Guerrero, whose painting will be in the family waiting area.
The 65,000-sqft Southeastern Live Well Center is expected to open in summer of 2023 at the corners of Market Street + Euclid Avenue and will be the county’s sixth central community service hub. The facility will offer services in employment assistance, food insecurity, public + behavioral health, and more. It will also have a 4,000-sqft conference center + meditation garden that connects it to Chollas Creek Trail.
THE WRAP
Today’s issue was written by Michael.
Editor’s pick:Happy Friday,San Diego — or should I say, Happy holidays. It’s hard to believe we’re already getting to that point in the calendar, and all we can really do is embrace it now. One of my favorite things about Christmas in San Diego is trees at the ends or piers. It’s so SoCal, and I’m excited for Pacific Beach’s Holiday on Crystal Pier starting Saturday, Dec. 3.
