• Leaders broke ground on the Salk Neighborhood Park and Joint-Use Facility in Mira Mesa — a 4.1-acre project that sits on land owned by the city and San Diego Unified School District. • San Diego State University is celebrating its 125th anniversary — and 100th season of Aztecs football — so if you’ve seen monuments, College Area businesses + campus buildings lit up in red this week, that’s why.
