Consider this your bat signal .

Mission Trails Regional Park (MTRP) volunteer trail guides will host a “Bat Walk ” on Sat., Oct. 29, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. — an interpretive, educational talk all about bats — the nighttime creatures that the park dubs “misunderstood aerialists.”

Attendees should register ahead of time for the free outdoors event (the early bat catches the spot) — and bring a flashlight. The group will meet in the parking lot at the corner of Bushy Hill Drive + Father Junipero Serra Trail.

Several weeks ago, MTRP posted a video of a canyon bat that made its way into the Visitor Center. Rangers gently caught it and set it free outside. They’re out there.
