What’s crackin’ at the Mingei International Museum? A new exhibition — “Piñatas: The High Art of Celebration ” — will rise on Fri., Oct. 28, spotlighting the traditional craft + vibrant contemporary art form.
The museum says the world of piñatas is “a constantly evolving field for artmaking.”
To that end, the show features 80+ works made by Latinx artists from across the US and explores how piñatas — in their skilled craftsmanship + witty humor — are designed, constructed, and executed. Expect to see works from traditional piñateros, as well as pieces by artists who have reinterpreted the art form. 🪅

The Mingei opens daily at 10 a.m. and “Piñatas” is included with museum admission . You can hit up the exhibition through April 30, 2023.
