Joe Musgrove mural added to WestBrew wall in downtown San Diego

The new piece proudly proclaims “It’s Our Time.”

Joe Musgrove mural at WestBrew

Cheers to this mural.

Our excitement for the Padres has us wanting to paint the city brown + gold — but that’s not just a dream for Chula Vista-based muralists Paul Jimenez + Signe Ditona (aka Ground Floor Murals). As the Friars faced the LA Dodgers over the weekend, the artists painted pitcher Joe Musgrove on the walls of WestBrew in downtown San Diego.

The portrait of the El Cajon native can be seen outside the tasting room and boldly proclaims “It’s Our Time,” greeting fans as they walk to Petco Park. As the team continues into the National League Championship Series, the ballpark will host Game 1 tonight at 5:03 p.m. and Game 2 tomorrow at 1:35 p.m. It will also be the location for games 6 + 7, as needed.

The new piece was commissioned thanks to San Diego’s Downtown Partnership Clean & Safe program, which aims to uphold the appearance of the area’s 275 blocks.
