Whether you’re shopping for locally grown fruits + veggies, SD-roasted coffee beans, or artisan home goods, you can find it at your nearest market.

In the spirit of supporting all things local, we’ve rounded up 33 farmers markets in the San Diego area where you can head outside to find fresh food, live music, and local vendors.

Sunday

Hillcrest Farmers Market | Sundays, year-round | 9 a.m.-2p.m.

  • Parking: Free parking on surrounding streets and in the San Diego Unified School District administrative offices lot, the DMV Field Office on Normal Street, and USPS lots.
  • Space: Outdoors

You’ll find 175+ vendors, new merchants weekly, live music, food, and local produce at this big farmers market. Pro tip: The market has temporarily moved to University Avenue between Herbert Street and Park Boulevard amid construction for the Normal Street Promenade. Once that project is completed, the Hillcrest Farmers Market will return to its upgraded permanent location.

La Jolla Open Aire Market | Sundays, year-round | 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

  • Parking: Street parking, and in the lots at The Gillespie School, La Jolla Elementary, and the public lot on Genter Street.
  • Space: Outdoors

Going strong for 25+ years, this Girard Avenue market includes local artisans and cooking demos, meals, and fresh produce.

SD Chula Vista Farmers Market

The Chula Vista Farmers Market goes down every Sunday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., near Memorial Park.

This East County gem celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2023. The market brings 90+ local vendors and entertainment to the heart of La Mesa Village.

  • Parking: Bernardo Winery’s parking lot plus street parking.
  • Space: Outdoors

Head to the winery’s lower courtyard to shop produce, artisan goods, crafts, local honey, and eggs. You’ll also have easy access to the winery’s Village Shops.
