Locals know a walk through Little Italy is filled with many sights — especially when the holiday season lights up the community. For a third year, “Aurora” by Joshua Hubert is on display, and while it resembles a Christmas tree, a lot of planning went into growing this piece.

A glowing tradition.

Here are some fast facts about the display:

  • The outer shell rises 32 ft, and it’s hollow inside .
  • It’s made of hundreds of Polycarbonate panels coated in dichroic for a holographic glow.
  • Each visit is different — the tree is reflective, and will show different colors depending on the angle of the sun.
  • Inside are thousands of programmable LED lights , so spectacular light combos can be created.

You can visit “Aurora” throughout the holiday season and it will return to Little Italy next year and for future holiday seasons.
