Comic-Con is back — in Special Edition form. Due to pandemic restrictions, Comic-Con was held exclusively online in July 2020 + 2021 , and San Diego just isn’t the same without the event. But, as we know, superheroes always find a way to win.

This smaller, in-person Special Edition of Comic-Con returns to the San Diego Convention Center on Fri., Nov. 26-Sun., Nov. 28.

The full schedule has been released, and there’s a lot to experience. Fans can find panels discussing X-Men, Shang-Chi, + Star Wars. The cast of NBC’s “La Brea” will make an appearance, and there are many opportunities to learn about creative careers in comics, gaming, and illustration.

Compared to pre-pandemic summer Comic-Con, this event has reduced capacities. The smaller events at Special Edition are more reminiscent of early Comic-Con gatherings before it leveled-up to become a massive event.

The Exhibit Hall will be returning . If you’ve ever been to Comic-Con before, you know this is the epicenter, a magic space where fans wear over-the-top cosplay and you can find one-of-a-kind merchandise.

Comic-Con is a huge deal in San Diego — big enough to close Harbor Drive . Not going into the Convention Center ? Fifth Avenue and nearby streets will let you get into the action. This area is home to many of the best Comic-Con themed restaurants and pop-ups, such as The Landing + Sally’s Fish House & Bar at Manchester Grand Hyatt . If you love to people-watch you’ll find attendees walking around the city in their costumes.

Looking to attend Comic-Con Special Edition? For $150 you can register for a weekend pass and familiarize yourself with COVID-19 requirements . Bonus: the Comic-Con Museum in Balboa Park opens on Fri., Nov. 26, so zip over there for even more Comic-Con culture.
