One of the most lovable things about San Diego is the distinct character found in each neighborhood, district, and corner of town. They all have their own personalities and purposes — some would say it was written in the stars. Let’s take a look at how our neighborhoods align with the zodiac signs.

Ocean Beach is always a good idea.

Aquarius: Ocean Beach | Jan. 20-Feb. 18

The unique businesses and general vibe of the OB community embody the eclectic nature of an Aquarius.

We recommend heading straight to Newport Avenue and grabbing a one-of-a-kind burger from Hodad’s or a barrel-aged sour beer from California Wild Ales . On Voltaire Street, check out City Tacos’ colorful OB Playground and the quirky merch at Vervor Shop .

Aries: Gaslamp Quarter | March 21-April 19

Known as the passionate and confident leader of the zodiac, an Aries would feel right at home in downtown San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter .

William Heath Davis established the town in 1850 and in 1867, Alonzo Horton — aka the “Father of San Diego” — began to develop what he called “New Town .” The area soon boomed with residential and commercial activity, and gas lamp street lights, certainly a match for the fiery sign.

As a lover of loyalty, you’ll feel right at home in Liberty Station , a neighborhood linked to the city’s past and present.

The area served as the Naval Training Center starting in 1923, welcoming US Navy recruits as it expanded through the decades. Today, it’s a hub for dining and shopping, with Liberty Public Market , the Arts District , and family-friendly events all year long.
