San Diego Museum Month returns — here’s what’s new

The San Diego Museum Council’s beloved San Diego Museum Month returns Thursday, Feb. 1-Thursday, Feb. 29 — an annual celebration of SD’s arts and culture that offers 50% off admission at 70+ participating attractions .

You know we love our local museums and exhibitions , so let’s explore what’s new for Museum Month in 2024.

Per the Museum Council, these participants are new this year:

• WNDR Museum San Diego | The immersive, multi-sensory museum in downtown SD.
• Deer Park Winery & Auto Museum | The Escondido attraction that boasts the largest convertible car collection in the world, plus an entire room dedicated to Barbie.
• California Wolf Center | The wolf reserve in Julian where visitors can meet wild wolf ambassadors and learn about conservation.
• LEGOLAND California Resort and Sea Life Aquarium | Use Museum Month to build family memories at these Carlsbad hotspots.

Museum Month is also an officially endorsed project of World Design Capital San Diego Tijuana 2024 — making it the first time the program has expanded into Tijuana and Baja California.

• The San Diego Natural History Museum | The Nat is celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2024, so get a lay of the land before the local celebrations begin later this year.
• The Museum of Us | Come for the exhibitions — and then treat yourself to a tour of the California Tower .
• Chicano Park Museum and Cultural Center | The center rooted in the history of Chicano Park debuted in 2022; you’ll want to explore the murals , too.
• Cabrillo National Monument | Come for the landmarks , stay for the beautiful hiking .

Did you know? More than 110,000 people enjoyed the Museum Month deal last year. You can now grab your Museum Month pass at 80+ San Diego County libraries , or download a digital pass via the Museum Council’s site starting Thursday, Feb. 1.
