AAPI Heritage Month pop-up dinner coming to The Cottage La Jolla

Executive Chef Paolo Chan has been with The Cottage La Jolla since 2019.

The Cottage La Jolla will celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with a pop-up event catered to foodies on Friday, May 19, 6-9 p.m.

Hawaii-born Executive Chef Paolo Chan will create an 8-course, Pan-Asian dinner inspired by his Polynesian roots and travels. The cherry on top — a portion of the $85 ticket sales will support the San Diego Asian Pacific Islander Coalition , a hub for local API organizations .

👀 So, what’s on the mouthwatering prix fixe menu, you ask?

  • Amuse: Duo of ahi and seared steak poke
  • Soup: Coconut miso bone broth
  • Appetizer: Shrimp and pork shumai
  • First: Vegetable tempura with ginger coconut sauce
  • Second: Grilled adobo musubi
  • Third: Seaweed pesto udon with seared ahi
  • Fourth: Sisig banh mi with pork or mushroom
  • Dessert: Taro crème brûlée

This event will kick off the restaurant’s new monthly summer dinner series featuring a special tasting menu focused on regional influences.
