When it comes to food, we’ve got a lot on our home plate. You might head to Petco Park to root for the home team — but when you’re there, you’ll be able to buy more than just peanuts + Cracker Jacks.
The food at the ballpark is so good, we’re finding ourselves craving these tastes even when there isn’t a game. Thankfully, many vendors are local restaurants, so you can get a taste of the Padres all over town. We’ve rounded up 10 great vendors from inside the park + where you’ll find them on the outside.
🍖 Grand Ole BBQ
Padres fans fell in love with this restaurant — where Texas flavors meat California taste buds — when it replaced Phil’s BBQ during the 2021 season. The eatery was founded when San Diego native Andy Harris opened his first restaurant in North Park in 2015 + a second location in East County’s Flinn Springs in 2018.

🧊 Holy Paleta
A new addition in 2022, paleta lovers are now able to cool off with their favorite treats during the game. As the summer starts to heat up, you’ll be glad these frozen fruit + cream-based bars aren’t reserved for ball games.

There are burgers — and then there’s Hodad’s. The local favorite has people flipping out at Petco Park, so fans can take comfort in knowing that the Padres don’t need to be playing if they want to get another burger.

🍕 Pizza Port
Our go-to spot for ballpark pizza, this local chain is also known for its beers. You can pick up brews at many stores — but the food isn’t reserved for the park.

🍪 Cravory Cookies
As if being at a Padres game wasn’t sweet enough, this local bakery is serving its cookies + making ice cream sandwiches. The cravings may not stop after the game — but the Point Loma bakery isn’t too far away.

🥖 Gaglione Bros
There’s a lot at steak during Padres games thanks to these sandwiches + garlic fries. But if you ever find yourself in the mood for a cheesesteak, you don’t need to go to Philadelphia, the restaurant has two local stores.

🥟 Din Tai Fung
This world-famous Chinese restaurant appeared at the Westfield UTC in 2018, but came to Petco Park in 2021. At the game, you can find a selection of filled buns — because its delicious soup dumplings are better suited for a table than the stands.

🌭 Barrio Dogg
Most ballparks can’t ketchup to Petco Park’s food scene — even the hot dogs are on another level. Barrio Dogg turns up the heat on the baseball favorite, and has a restaurant + tasting room outside of the park.

Would it really be a San Diego experience without tacos? This locally-praised chain does a shell of a job bringing the dish to the park — and adding margaritas and chips + guac to the mix — but you can always visit one of its restaurants if you can’t wait for the next game.
