La Mesa Village Farmers Market (LMVFM) is ringing in its 30th anniversary — lettuce celebrate its importance to the community.
The year-round market takes over La Mesa Boulevard every Friday, 3-7:30 p.m. — closing at 7 p.m. October-April.
Did you know? Suzanne and Mark Bendixen launched the market in September 1993 at the Allison Avenue parking lot with 20 vendors. It operated at the Civic Center lot from 2003 to 2018. La Mesa Village Association took it over in 2018, moving it to the heart of downtown.
Don’t miss the dedicated food court where vendors sell all kinds of prepared goodies every week.

Today, it boasts 80+ vendors selling locally-grown produce, flowers, eggs, meat, prepared foods (don’t miss the food court), and handmade gifts.
Starting Friday, Sept. 1, LMVFM will host weekly anniversary giveaways for an entire month on its Instagram page — from $50 in “Market Bucks” to a commemorative shopping bag filled with surprise goodies from its vendors.
