There’s a new food event on the block — actually, along many blocks — in downtown San Diego: the inaugural Taste of East Village.

The self-guided tasting tour of the community that spans 7th Avenue to 17th Street is set for Tuesday, Aug. 29, and Wednesday, Aug. 30, 4-8 p.m.

Event organizers say it’ll highlight the neighborhood’s top culinary and beverage offerings, with 35+ participating restaurants including:

  • Black Market Bakery
  • Hi Poke
  • Casa Octavio
  • East Village Brewing
  • Little Miss Brewing
  • Mission Brewery
  • City Tacos
  • Tavern + Bowl
  • Hey Sugar!
  • Quartyard
  • Moniker Cocktail Co.
  • Wicked Chicken
  • Doggos Gus
  • Storyhouse Spirits

Attendees will receive a “Taste Passport” upon check-in, and they can sip and sample their way through each eatery’s special offerings, mapping their palate’s progress along the way.

Tickets are now available. Each day includes specific participating restaurants and dishes — check out the day one menu and day two menu.
