Karl Strauss Brewing Company

Karl Strauss Brewing Company has tapped into its newest concept: Karl Strauss Outpost, an 85,000-sqft beer garden now open at 1293 Armorlite Dr. in San Marcos.

This is the locally founded brand’s fifth location in San Diego County. Given SD’s stellar weather, the family-friendly, outdoor space features various seating options, umbrellas, fire pits, and lawn games.

While the new spot serves familiar drinks, it also introduces the first-ever Karl Strauss Food Truck helmed by Executive Chef Gunther Emathinger. It serves dishes like street tacos and “Nachitos” — nachos smothered in jalapeño beer cheese and topped with meat.

Both “The Outpost” and food truck are open Wednesday-Sunday, hours vary by day.
