The holiday season isn’t complete without Kwanzaa, the African American and Pan-African holiday that celebrates family, history, and culture. The holiday was created by Dr. Maulana Karenga in 1966 and is observed with seven principles across seven nights.
This year, the WorldBeat Cultural Center will host its 43rd Annual Kwanzaa Celebration starting Tuesday, Dec. 26, through Friday, Dec. 29. The four-night event will include speakers, art, the Karamu feast, music, and a performance of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.”
